THROUGH 0000Z December 6, 2025
SMOKE: Southern Florida… Despite moderate cloud cover, multiple agricultural fires south of Lake Okeechobee, Florida were observed generating an area of light density smoke that drifted north-northeast. Western Cuba… Multiple agricultural fires in western Cuba produced individual light-density smoke plumes drifting towards the northwest. Arizona… A fire located within the Fort Apache Reservation in east-central Arizona was observed producing light-density smoke that drifted south-southeast. Oklahoma… A fire located on the border between the Oklahoma counties of Noble and Garfield was observed producing a light-to-moderate density smoke that drifted towards the northeast. AEROSOL/SMOKE: Mexico... An area of light-density smoke, consisting aerosols from gas flaring and other urban/industrial activity across Mexico, mixed with additional emissions from scattered fire activity in the region, moved north from the Bay of Campeche before hitting a weather system along Mexico’s Gulf coast and dispersing eastward. GL THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED. USERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VIEW A GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF THESE AND OTHER PLUMES WHICH ARE LESS EXTENSIVE AND STILL ATTACHED TO THE SOURCE FIRE IN VARIOUS GRAPHIC FORMATS ON OUR WEB SITE: JPEG:http://www.ospo.noaa.gov/data/land/fire/currenthms.jpg Smoke data: https://satepsanone.nesdis.noaa.gov/pub/FIRE/web/HMS/Smoke_Polygons Fire data: https://satepsanone.nesdis.noaa.gov/pub/FIRE/web/HMS/Fire_Points ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS REGARDING THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE SENT TO: SSDFireTeam@noaa.gov
