DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1600Z November 13, 2025
SMOKE: Western CONUS and Canada… High fire activity continued across Alberta and Saskatchewan, and northern Idaho this morning. Cloud coverage in the west and northern Canada limited visibility of smoke in satellite imagery, but a large area of light-density smoke was observed across Alberta and Saskatchewan that moved along north of the border to the east towards the Great Lakes. Southeastern United States… Widespread light-density smoke circulated to the east from Oklahoma and southern Arkansas to Georgia and drifted offshore into the Atlantic. Light smoke also spread south into the Gulf from Louisiana to western Florida. Florida… Fires were observed this morning south of Lake Okeechobee, which generated multiple light-density smoke plumes that drifted south. Mills THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS.
