DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1600Z November 07, 2025
SMOKE: Arizona… The fires within the Sitgreaves National Forest and the Fort Apache Reservation remained active this morning and were observed producing localized light-to-moderate density smoke. Southeastern United States… Moderate-to-heavy cloud cover prevented any potential smoke identification in the Southeastern United States. AEROSOL/SMOKE: Mexico/Pacific Ocean… An area of light-density smoke, consisting primarily of aerosols from gas flaring and other urban/industrial activity across Mexico, mixed with additional emissions from scattered fire activity in the region, was observed dispersing into the Pacific Ocean off the southern and western coastline of Mexico. Additional smoke was observed moving north across the Isthmus of Tehuantepec before dispersing into the Bay of Campeche. The smoke may also consist of remnants of yesterday’s fires in the region. GL THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
