THROUGH 0000Z November 05, 2025
SMOKE: Arizona… Wildfires were observed this evening in the Coconino and Sitgreaves National Forest, producing light-to-heavy density smoke plumes that dispersed locally before traveling northeast across the Painted Desert. The smoke plumes appear to make their way towards the Arizona-New Mexico border within the coming hours. Utah… Individual fires in central and southern Utah were seen producing light-density smoke plumes moving eastward across the state. California… A wildfire was observed in the Los Padres National Forest of southern California, producing a light-to-moderate smoke plume that drifted northeast across Kern County towards the Sequoia National Forest. Saskatchewan… A large area of light density smoke was observed in southeastern Saskatchewan. The smoke consisted of lightly dense smoke plumes that are localized near the individual fires in the region. Southeastern United States… An area of light density smoke was observed this evening stretching from eastern Texas to Georgia and northern Florida. The area of smoke consisted of individual smoke plumes produced by the today’s agricultural fires and appeared to drift northward across the region. AEROSOL/SMOKE: Mexico/Pacific Ocean… An area of light-density smoke, consisting primarily of aerosols from gas flaring and other urban/industrial activity across Mexico, mixed with additional emissions from scattered fire activity in the region, was observed dispersing into the Pacific Ocean off the southern and western coastline of Mexico. GL THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED. USERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VIEW A GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF THESE AND OTHER PLUMES WHICH ARE LESS EXTENSIVE AND STILL ATTACHED TO THE SOURCE FIRE IN VARIOUS GRAPHIC FORMATS ON OUR WEB SITE: JPEG:http://www.ospo.noaa.gov/data/land/fire/currenthms.jpg Smoke data: https://satepsanone.nesdis.noaa.gov/pub/FIRE/web/HMS/Smoke_Polygons Fire data: https://satepsanone.nesdis.noaa.gov/pub/FIRE/web/HMS/Fire_Points ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS REGARDING THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE SENT TO: SSDFireTeam@noaa.gov
