DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1430Z September 10, 2025

SMOKE:
Western Canada/Pacific Northwest...
Wildfires persisted throughout western Canada and the northwestern
United States.
Localized moderate-heavy density smoke was seen in southern British
Columbia, central Alberta, and northern Saskatchewan moving northeast
making its way towards SE Northwest Territories and SW Nunavut. Light
density smoke from the Canadian fires spread throughout the rest of
Canada extending south over the Midwestern United States, continuing
eastward into the Northeastern United States, Quebec, and Newfoundland.

California…
The Garnet fire in California remained active this morning. This fire
produced a small heavy-moderate closer to the fire source and a larger
light density smoke plume which was seen dispersing north into Nevada.

THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF
SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED
FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE,
TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE
ALSO DESCRIBED. USERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VIEW A GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF THESE
AND OTHER PLUMES WHICH ARE LESS EXTENSIVE AND STILL ATTACHED TO THE SOURCE
FIRE IN VARIOUS GRAPHIC FORMATS ON OUR WEB SITE:
