DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1500Z September 4, 2025

SMOKE:
Western Canada/United States...
Wildfires continued to burn across western Canada and the western
United States with a large area of smoke extending from the Northwest
Territories and Yukon, southeast through western Canada, the northern
Rockies, central United States, and into the eastern United States. The
smoke also extends south along the United States West Coast to central
California. Within that area, localized moderate-to-heavy smoke was seen
closer to the active wildfires over much of the region, but the largest
concentration of moderate-to-heavy smoke was seen from far southeastern
Alaska and the southwest portion of the Northwest Territories, extending
southeast through British Columbia, the Pacific Northwest, the northern
Rockies, and into the Central and Northern Plains of the United States.

New Foundland and North Atlantic Ocean...
An area of light smoke was seen east of New Foundland moving east into
the North Atlantic Ocean. The source of this is believed to be a wildfire
over southern New Foundland.
