DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Alaska/Canada/Atlantic Ocean... Wildfires continued to burn across northeastern Alaska, and northwestern and central Canada, with widespread smoke dispersing eastward across central Canada, drifting past Hudson Bay and continuing across Newfoundland into the northern Atlantic. Denser smoke gathered in the Northwest Territories, northern British Columbia, and central Saskatchewan. Western and North-Central U.S... Several wildfires in southern British Columbia, northern California, central Oregon, northern Arizona, Utah, and western Colorado were spreading light-to-moderate density smoke across most of the Western and Central United States. Higher concentrations were found around southern Utah, southern Colorado, northern Arizona, and northwestern New Mexico. Ferrante THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
