DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Alaska/Canada/Great Lakes/Atlantic Ocean... Wildfires continued to burn across northwestern Alaska, and northwestern and central Canada, with widespread smoke dispersing eastward across Saskatchewan and Manitoba, flowing past Hudson Bay to the south and continuing across Ontario, Labrador and over the northern Atlantic. Denser smoke gathered in the Northwest Territories and northern British Columbia, as well as central Saskatchewan and southern Ontario. Western and North-Central U.S... Several wildfires in southern British Columbia, northern California, northern Arizona, Utah, and western Colorado were spreading light-to-moderate density smoke across most of the Western and Central U.S. Higher concentrations were found around northern California, Arizona, Utah and Montana. Mills THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
