DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Central California/Pacific Ocean... An area of light to moderate smoke was observed over central California today, moving west over the Pacific Ocean, circling to the south and clockwise back towards the southern California coast. Central United States… A large stream of light smoke was moving from west to east over the central United States, from Utah towards the mid-Atlantic. Florida… Small plumes of light smoke could be seen moving to the west from fires in southern Florida. Mills THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
