DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Central-Southern California Valley... A large area of predominantly light smoke attributed to a combination of remnant smoke from agricultural burns and wildfires, was observed settling within the southern portion of the California valley. Southern California/Los Angeles County/Pacific Ocean... A mix of light to moderate density smoke was observed this evening in Southern California and the southern Pacific Coast as a result of the ongoing Palisades and Eaton wildfires located in Los Angeles County. The majority of the smoke from these fires is blowing southeast from their origins towards the Baja Peninsula. Cuba... Agricultural burns and industrial emissions in Northwestern Cuba were observed releasing a steady stream of light smoke. These smoke emissions were observed blowing towards the Southwest into the Caribbean Sea. Cardona THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
