Apparently, we had email problems when this message was originally sent out
on October 14, so that our users did not receive the message. We are
resending it and hope that this did not cause you any problems.
The October AVHRR Visible Calibration Coefficients update was performed at
1540 UTC today, October 14, 2003. The first orbits to be processed after
the update are:
NSS.GHRR.NL.D03287.S1314.E1500.B1577475.GC
NSS.LHRR.NL.D03287.S1402.E1410.B1577474.GC
NSS.HRPT.NL.D03287.S1642.E1654.B1577676.GC
The new calibration coefficients for NOAA-16 AVHRR Channel 1 & 2 for October
2003 are:
Ch_1_lo = .05300*count - 2.044, count<498.96
Ch_1_hi = 0.1547*count - 52.58, count>498.96
Ch_2_lo = .05738*count - 2.168, count<500.16
Ch_2_hi = 0.1691*count - 58.30, count>500.16
These coefficients are expected to be optimal on October 28, in the middle
of the two adjacent updates (October 14 and November 11). The "switch
point" was not changed.
