Satellite(s) Involved:
NOAA-15
Instrument(s) Involved:
HIRS
Product(s) Involved/Affected:
Channels 13 - 19
Date/Time(UTC) of Initial Implementation:

Details/Specifics of Change:
On July 29, the High Resolution Infrared Sounder (HIRS) instrument on the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration satellite, NOAA-15, began
showing increased noise. Over last 30 orbits beginning with 27066 (start
time 0300Z), the HIRS channels 13 - 19 are showing increased space view
noise. Channels 16 and 17 are exceeding their spec limits. We will
continue to monitor the instrument and take corrective action if possible.
