REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The anomaly was believed to be associated with NOAA Response Link Hotline #11125 and was observed in the Eugene Island lease area. The largest portion of the anomaly was located 2.31 NM SW of Point Au Fer Island, Louisiana, with additional fragments reaching farther NW toward Atchafalaya Bay. It appeared darker against the ocean surface, with some patches showing a silvery, shimmery appearance indicating thicker oil. In total, the anomaly measured approximately 11.05 NM in length and 0.57 NM at its widest point. At the time of the image, winds were coming from the SE at 13 kts. 


UNCERTAINTIES: The anomaly became faint and was difficult to distinguish against the ocean background in some areas, so the full extent may be underestimated.
