REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. Possible oil associated with NOAA ResponseLink Hotline 11125 was observed in the South Timbalier area offshore Louisiana, approximately 8 NM south of Belle Pass and 18 NM NW of the source of the release in Grand Isle. The anomaly had dark, small blots at the western end, resembling tar balls with a trailing sheen 7 NM long and 1 NM wide. The sheen feathered to the south, and faded from west to east. Winds were from the east, which aligns with the western trajectory and trailing sheen.



UNCERTAINTIES: The full extent of possible oil may be underestimated in this report as the sheen signature grew very faint and indistinguishable from the background environment to the east.
