REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The slick was approximately 4.96 nm long and approx. 1.01 nm at its widest. The dark colored anomaly had well defined edges and a strong contrast against the ocean background. It was distinguishable from both natural phenomena, seeps, and appeared out of place. Winds near the time of the image were coming from the S at 5 kts.



UNCERTAINTIES: There were a few oil facilities near the slick but one in particular was the closest. There were also pipelines and wells in the vicinity.
