Satellite Source: RadarSat 2 Mode: ScanSAR Narrow VV Resolution: 50 meter Image Date & Time: 05-28-2018 1151 UTC Confidence: High Issue Date: 05-28-2018 Region: Gulf of Mexico Location: 2856'16" N, 8858'14" W Coverage Area: 6.37 km^2 Remarks: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The 6 NM long by 0.3 NM wide anomaly is faint relative to its background due to the relatively strong winds of 20-25 KT out of the NE. However, given that the anomaly did align very well with the winds and emanated from a known repeat leak source, the destroyed Taylor Platform, we have HIGH confidence in this assessment. Uncertainties: There are no uncertainties.
