Details/Specifics of Change:

NOAA/NESDIS is proposing the retirement of the Legacy GOES-R Rainfall Rate Product. Since June 20, 2024, the operational Enterprise Rainfall Rate product (GOES-18 and GOES-19) has been active at NESDIS and available via Production, Distribution, and Access (PDA). Because this Enterprise product fully covers the baseline version's capabilities, plans are underway to retire the baseline product.

Many users have already completed or are currently completing their transition to the Enterprise version. If you have not yet transitioned, please do so as soon as possible.

To evaluate the impacts of this discontinuation, a 30-day public feedback window has been opened with a submission deadline of October 1, 2026. We encourage you to share your input through this form.
