Details/Specifics of Change: Following the safehold event on July 15th, GOES-19 (GOES-East) GLM began experiencing an increased rate of false alarms (flashes) in its field of view, particularly in the tropics between 1500 and 1900 UTC. Additional episodes of excessive false alarms have occurred during these hours in recent days. GOES-R engineers are actively working with instrument vendors to analyze and resolve this issue.
