Update #4: The S-NPP spacecraft entered a non-nominal state at 02:02 UTC on August 3, 2026. All science data remains unavailable and will not be recoverable until further notice; however, all instruments are in a safe state. Engineering will continue recovery efforts through the next few business days after which Cal/val teams will assess the data prior to approval for operational use of the science data.
PDA OPS requests for all S-NPP Science products were disabled at 13:34 UTC on August 3, 2026.
NOAA-21 remains the primary JPSS series spacecraft, and Key Performance Parameters from its instruments continue to be delivered. S-NPP is a Tertiary satellite with no performance and latency requirements.
