Final Update: SOLAR-1 is fully recovered as of 1551z.  The reaction wheel was brought back into service at 13:51z. A momentum unload maneuver was performed at 14:46z. Spacecraft achieved Point state at 14:52z. X-band was enabled at 15:10z.

Regarding payload recovery: CCOR-2 began imaging at 15:30z, SWiPS was recovered at 15:45z, the Magnetometer was recovered at 15:49z, and STIS was recovered at 15:51z.

Details/Specifics: SOLAR-1 was placed in Safe Hold at approximately 0620Z  on July 26, 2026 and will be offline until further notice. This will result in an outage of all SOLAR-1 data.


Background: On July 26, 2026, the SOLAR-1 telemetry showed that a reaction wheel powered off, causing the spacecraft to transition into Safehold mode. The OSPO Engineering team is diagnosing the issue and preparing recovery procedures.
