Update #2 : Cal/val and engineering analysis on the NOAA-20 ATMS instrument and data products are on-going. An update will be provided no earlier than July 14, 2026. NOAA-21 remains the primary JPSS series spacecraft and ATMS products from that satellite continue to be delivered. While NOAA-20 ATMS data is available through High Data Rate (HRD), Direct Broadcast users are advised that all NOAA-20 ATMS products are not approved for operational use.
Correction: The NOAA-20 ATMS instrument entered a non-nominal state at ~03:47z on July 10, 2026. Engineering was able to restore the instrument to an operational state by 08:19:28Z on July 10, 2026. PDA OPS subscriptions for all NOAA-20 ATMS products were disabled at 16:10Z. Cal/Val teams are performing analysis on this data before it can be used operationally. All NOAA-20 ATMS data between 03:47Z - 08:18Z and 12:38Z - 13:26Z on July 10, 2026 will not be recoverable. All other NOAA-20 science data products are nominal and available for operational use. A Notice will be provided once NOAA-20 ATMS is available for operational use.
Update #1: All data recovered and processed through IDPS for NOAA-20, Rev. 44774.
