Details/Specifics of Change:

The eagerly anticipated transition to operational status for the critical JPSS Algorithm Updates, which are an integral component of the IDPS Block 2.3 Maintenance Release Mx15, has been officially postponed. This deferral moves the operational implementation date from its previously scheduled timeline to December 15, 2025 at 1630 UTC.

This unavoidable delay is directly attributable to an unforeseen lapse in appropriations. This funding interruption has created a temporary but significant impediment, necessitating a revised schedule for these crucial updates. The JPSS Algorithm Updates are vital for ensuring the continued accuracy, reliability, and enhancement of data processing and product generation within the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) operational framework. Once implemented, these updates are expected to further improve the quality and utility of environmental data provided to forecasters and researchers, ultimately benefiting a wide range of applications, from weather prediction to climate monitoring. The new December 2nd target date allows the necessary resources and personnel to be properly aligned following the resolution of the appropriations issue, ensuring a smooth and successful transition to operations.

Addition of configuration into IDPS for QuickSounder S/C RDR and QuickSounder ATMS RDRs, SDRs, TDRs, and GEO.

The ATMS Beam Alignment Correction Rotation Matrix ADR-11197

ATMS geolocation adjustment will be included.  ATMS beam alignment correction rotation matrix improved implementation.

ATMS SDR and TDR geolocation accuracy is improved after the correction, particularly near the limb FOVs. This applies to S-NPP, NOAA-20, NOAA-21 and QuickSounder ATMS.
