Details/Specifics: 

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) confirms the successful technical restoration of the Himawari-9 geostationary meteorological satellite. Its observation data is now being received reliably and without interruption.

JMA plans to transition primary operational duties from Himawari-8 to the restored Himawari-9. Data provision from Himawari-9 is currently scheduled to commence at 05:00 UTC on Tuesday, 26 November 2025.

Stakeholders should note this schedule is subject to change, primarily if a significant weather event or natural hazard requires Himawari-8's continuous operation for emergency monitoring. The JMA will provide timely updates to any necessary schedule adjustments.
