Update #1:  The network connectivity issues on the NOAA Jason Ground System (NJGS) have been resolved. EUMETSAT is no longer in Emergency Backup Mode (EBM) and Jason-3 OGDR processing on the NJGS has resumed. All OGDRs that were missed during the NJGS outage are now available on PDA, but with associated latency.

Topic: Jason-3 ESPC Processing Outage

Date/Time Issued: October 29, 2025 1500Z

Product(s) or Data Impacted: Jason-3 Operational Geophysical Data Records (OGDRs)

Date/Time of Initial Impact: October 28, 2025 1400Z

Date/Time of Expected End:
 TBD

Length of Event: TBD

Details/Specifics:
Due to network connectivity issues with the NOAA Jason Ground System (NJGS), starting at approximately 1400Z on 28 October 2025, ESPC has been unable to produce or deliver OGDRs. As a result, several Jason-3 passes have not been processed. NOAA has requested EUMETSAT be placed in Emergency Backup Mode (EBM) to temporarily take over all Jason-3 OGDR processing until the NJGS connectivity issue has been resolved. As a work-around during the interim, users with a subscription may access Jason-3 OGDRs from EUMETCast.
