Topic: DSCOVR Processor Reset

Date/Time Issued:  July 15, 2025 1910Z

Product(s) or Data Impacted: DSCOVR Instruments

Date/Time of Initial Impact: July 15, 2025 1742Z

Date/Time of Expected End:  TBD

Length of Outage: Instrument outage varies, see detail outage below

Details/Specifics of Change: Due to a software bus anomaly, DSCOVR must perform a processor reset to return to nominal operations. This activity will result in a data outage for all instruments as the engineering team initiates a processor reset, recovers the spacecraft from safehold mode, and configures the spacecraft and instruments for science mode. Due to antenna constraints at WCDAS and DSN, outage times will vary from previous resets and will be provided as the recovery commences. The primary customer, NOAA/NWS Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC), will switch over to ACE as primary source during the DSCOVR Commanded Reset activities.
