Details/Specifics of change: The McMurdo Ross Island Earth Station (RIES) Ground Station will be undergoing  maintenance on January 22, 2025 (DOY022) from 18:45 UTC – 23:00 UTC.  During this period of maintenance, the primary Southern Hemisphere downlink will be unavailable, and downlinks will occur on nominal sequential Northern Hemisphere Svalbard or Fairbanks passes.

As this work is occurring on the ice in McMurdo, schedule may shift unexpectedly within the overall maintenance period, and systems and engineering will work with operations to provide situational awareness.

The JPSS contacts identified below will be taking a ½ orbit mission data latency hit for the contacts within the maintenance window and will be at the subsequent Northern Hemisphere contact for the impacted passes:
