Details/Specifics of Change: On September 5, 2024, updates will be made to Look-Up Tables (LUTs) and associated code used by the Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) and Cloud Optical and Microphysical Properties (COMP) algorithms. These updates will help to improve retrievals of AOD, Cloud Optical Depth (COD), and Cloud Particle Size (CPS) from GOES-R satellites.

The algorithm_product_version_container and processing_parm_version_container included each of these product’s output files will have their version numbers updated to reflect this change.

A brief outage of up to 30 minutes is possible for these three products while the updates are installed.
