Details/Specifics of Change: Since December 4, 2023, the GOES-R Ground System has experienced periodic instances of data degradation and outages for many of the ABI Level 2 products. These impacts are often short-lived, but occur randomly throughout the day with inconsistent frequency. This notification is being sent to alert users of this ongoing issue and that they can expect low-to-moderate levels of impact to the products listed above under “Products or Data Impacted”.
A ticket to investigate the root cause of this persistent issue has been submitted to the Ground System developer and analysis is underway to help determine a solution. When a fix has been developed and put into place, a follow-up notification will be sent out informing users that the issue has been resolved.
