Topic: NSOF JPSS Primary WAN Switch OS Upgrade

Product or Data Impacted: NSOF Primary WAN switches OS upgrade is planned for Tuesday 10/17/2023 at 1:30 pm local EST.  The OS upgrade will impact all WAN connections at NSOF.  To minimize the impact, a controlled failover to NSOF backup WAN switch and failback to primary WAN switch will be performed during the back orbits.

 Date/Time of Initial Impact: October 17, 2023 17:30 GMT (1:30 PM ET)

 Date/Time of Expected End: October 17, 2023 19:30 GMT (3:30 PM ET)

Length of the Outage/Event: Two 1-3 minutes interruptions during the maintenance window.

Details/Specifics of Change:  

1.     Failover to backup WAN switch ~17:34z (1:34 PM EST). 

2.     Perform primary WAN switch OS update.

3.     Failback to primary WAN switch ~19:16z (3:16 PM EST).
