Many GOES-West products and services including GRB, AWIPS, HRIT/EMWIN, DCS, and SAR have now been transitioned to the GOES-18 data feed. GOES-17 will continue to operate out of 137.3 degrees West and data will be available alongside GOES-18 data through services such as PDA, CLASS, and NODD until GOES-17 distribution is turned off before drift.

GOES-17 is scheduled to begin its drift to the storage location at 104.7 degrees west on January 10, 2023. From the storage location, it will serve in a standby role for the GOES-East and GOES-West operational satellites.
