Detail: | Meteosat-9 is planned to take over Meteosat-8 as the prime satellite for the IODC service from 1 June 2022. Its drift towards the 45.5°E target longitude will start on 1 February 2022, with the first drift manoeuvre scheduled at 06:00 UTC, followed by a second manoeuvre 12 hours later, at 18:00 UTC. The drift rate will be of ~0.5 deg/day until Meteosat-9 reaches the target longitude (current planned drift stop date is 20 April 2022). From 1 February 2022, Meteosat-9 will no longer be used as backup satellite for the Full Earth Scan Service and will no longer provide RSS gap-filling during Meteosat-10 RSS interruptions.
