New products included in this release are:
NOAA-20 OMPS V8PRO:
NOAA 20 OMPS (Ozone Mapping and Profiler Suite) V8Pro products (Ozone Vertical Profile, Effective Reflectivity, Aerosol Index) have been approved for operations.
NOAA-20 ozone products are used at NCEP (National Centers for Environmental Prediction) to monitor the health of the ozone layer and will be assimilated into models in place of the current NOAA-19 SBUV/2 (Solar Backscatter Ultraviolet Instrument) for UV Index and Weather Forecast applications. With the two afternoon satellites operating in tandem 50 minutes apart in orbit, users have increased coverage at the middle and high latitudes.
GOES-R SCP ASOS:
GOES-R Satellite Cloud Product Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) will be replacing the GOES-15 SCP ASOS products.
