.
TUNGURAHUA 00-709 ECUADOR 0128S 7826W
.
BACKGROUND: TUNGURAHUA ECUADOR (1502-08)
               SUMMIT HEIGHT 16480 FT (5023 M)
.
SOURCES OF INFORMATION: GOES-8 VISIBLE INFRARED AND
MULTISPECTRAL IMAGERY. WIND FORECAST FROM AVIATION MODEL.
.
ERUPTION DETAILS: OCCASIONAL GAS AND ASH EMISSIONS.
.
DETAILS OF ASH: NO ASH CAN BE SEEN IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 17/1815 UTC BECAUSE OF THE EXTENSIVE WEATHER CLOUDS
OVER THE AREA. A POSSIBLE VERY THIN PLUME THAT MIGHT HAVE
CONTAINED SOME ASH WAS SEEN IN SATELLITE IMAGERY UNTIL ABOUT
17/1645 UTC. THIS POSSIBLE PLUME EXTENDED FROM THE SUMMIT
TOWARD THE WEST OR SOUTHWEST AND WAS BELOW FL260.
.
TRAJECTORY: UPPER AIR PATTERNS SUGGEST THAT ANY ASH FROM THE
SUMMIT TO FL260 WOULD MOVE TOWARD THE WEST OR SOUTHWEST AT 15
TO 25 KNOTS.
.
OUTLOOK: SEE SIGMETS.
.
THE NEXT MESSAGE WILL BE ISSUED BY 18/0030 UTC.
