ERUPTION DETAILS: CONTINUOUS GAS AND ASH EMISSIONS.

DETAILS OF ASH: GOES-8 VISIBLE AND MULTISPECTRAL IMAGERY
THROUGH 1715 UTC SHOWS AN ASH PLUME CONTINUING TO EMIT FROM
THE SUMMIT OF THE VOLCANO. THE GEOPHYSICAL INSTITUTE HAS JUST
REPORTED THAT ASH IS OVER THE VOLCANO REACHING FL300. EXACTLY
DISCERNING THE OUTLINE OF ASH IS DIFFICULT AT THIS TIME DUE TO
OTHER CLOUDS MOVING INTO THE REGION BUT THE ASH APPEARS THIN.
HOWEVER THE THIN ASH DOES APPEAR TO BE EXTENDING OVER 100 KM
(54 NMI) TO THE WEST OF THE SUMMIT.

TRAJECTORY: ASH BETWEEN THE SUMMIT AND FL300 IS MOVING WEST
AND NORTHWEST AT 10 TO 20 KNOTS.
